Helical gear rotary actuators [MI]

For operating rotary main inlet valves, UniteQ uses Eckart HyRAV actuators, controlled by an UniteQ manifold. The HyRAV is designed in accordance with the helical gear principle, one of the most advanced solutions for rotary actuators available on the market. The main inlet valve is crucial for the safety of your system. The Eckart HyRAV in combination with an UniteQ manifold meets the highest safety demands.

All main inlet valves have a redundant spring package, which enables the main inlet valve to move to the safe position within 0.2 seconds. In dangerous situations the hydraulic pressure that suppresses the springs will drop, which allows the springs to move the actuator in its safe position.

Therefore, the removing the hydraulic pressure from the actuator is crucial for the safety of your turbine. Dependent on the required safety levels, UniteQ equips main inlet valves with hydraulic manifolds that are designed with 1oo1, 1oo2, 1oo3 or 2oo3 redundancy level.

UniteQ main inlet actuators are manufactured in accordance with the machine directive. In addition, safety integrity level (SIL) calculations are conducted. For example, since 2010 our 2oo3 manifold has been certified after the SIL3 standard, performed by an accredited third party.
